Jennifer Trijo is a Filipino-Australian singer, musician, actress, teacher, composer, and freelance writer who has toured nationally with professional bands, appeared on commercial television and radio, and performed in notable theatre productions as Kim in Miss Saigon (Australian tour), Mary Magdalene in Cross and Light (Australian premiere), and Mulan/Pocahontas/Princess Badroulbadour in Disenchanted! (Australian Premiere). Growing up in Sydney she acquired a wealth of stage experience as a cabaret artist, supported major Filipino artists in their Australian tours, and shared the stage with many major Australian artists.

As an APRA/AMCOS registered songwriter she has produced a self-titled EP, and the album Keys to a Woman’s Heart. She was music director and composed the original score for A Thousand Cranes produced by The Gemini Collective, which won the Adelaide Curtain Call Award for Best Youth Theatre Production in 2019. She was also music director for Shrek and Wicked, both produced by the Adelaide Youth Theatre. Other music director credits include Mamma Mia! produced by the Metropolitan Musical Theatre Company of SA, and Strictly Ballroom the Musical, produced by Matt Byrne Media, for which she was assistant music director.

When she is not conducting an orchestra she enjoys playing the keyboard and has been rehearsal pianist for Sideshow, produced by Hills Musical Company, and orchestral keyboardist for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, produced by the Northern Light Theatre Company.

Jennifer founded the arts and lifestyle publication The Serenade Files, a resource for emerging creatives and entrepreneurs. Her published work has appeared in Limelight Magazine,, and Australian Teacher Magazine.

She holds a Bachelor of Music (Classical Voice) and Bachelor of Education from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), and has completed a Diploma of Business Management from Martin College via a scholarship. She has been appointed as singing teacher/repertoire coach for the Bachelor of Music Theatre program at the Elder Conservatorium of Music.

Jennifer is currently represented by Jon-Claire Lee of Sydney Talent Company and accepts freelance work via her Starnow profile. Her 2020 projects will be: Candy in The Hipster, a hilarious new Australian musical; music director for Peter Pan, produced by the Adelaide Theatre Academy; music director for Priscilla Queen of the Desert the Musical, produced by Matt Byrne Media; and music director for Evita, produced by G & S SA.
