Singer / Musician / Performer

I have many years of stage experience as a vocalist, actor, dancer, and musician. My main instruments are voice, piano, and guitar. I am available for hire as a freelance musician. My repertoire and testimonials are listed below.

As a versatile mezzo soprano, I am capable of singing in a range of genres including musical theatre, classical, rock, pop, and jazz. I have a range of three octaves (C3 – C6). I have studied popular music under the tuition of Tracy Ellis (Sydney), musical theatre and classical music under the tuition of the late Margarette Burnett (Sydney/New Zealand), and musical theatre under the tuition of Gary May (Melbourne).

I have extensive experience as a lead singer and backing vocalist in several showbands and choirs, and I am confident singing solo and in harmony with other vocalists. I am truly grateful to have been mentored in the art of showmanship by cabaret veterans Rikki Organ, Rosemary Schofield, Darryl Talbot, and Alan Skeed. Their mentorship contributed to my confidence entertaining big crowds, as well as crowds in intimate settings. I pride myself on providing friendly banter and comic relief along with professional vocals.

Depending on your needs, I can sing to backing tracks, live bands, and/or accompany myself on piano and/or acoustic guitar. I have studied piano under the tuition of Michelle Lee (Sydney), Bruce Mainstone (Sydney), and Tom Kassai (Adelaide).

~ (KEYS TO A WOMAN’S HEART: Randy Andy’s Blog. Oct 4, 2012.)

~ (RENT: Paul Rodda, The Barefoot Review. 31 August, 2016)

“Jennifer Trijo as Mimi was flirty and sexy with powerful vocals, which were out on display in Out Tonight.”

~  (RENT: Bobby Goudie, The Clothesline Review. 31 August, 2016)

“Jennifer Trijo is a sexy and plaintive Mimi with a striking, muscular and beautiful voice. Stefanoff, Quick and Trijo are the emotional heart of this production: when they are centre stage, the show cracks along brilliantly.”

“Jennifer Trijo brings warmth and sensitivity to the role of Éponine in a sincere and touching performance.”
